BKFD Power Tyres Car Care Cen- tre, an independent tyre and auto- motive servicing centre, has joined the Westlake Malaysia family in 2018. The founder Lee Mun Hoong is also one of the most popular drifters in Malaysia.
“I came to know about the Westlake brand 10 years ago from a friend in Sin- gapore, who is also a drifter. He praised Westlake tyres for its good performance Westlake tyres at that time as no one imported them into Malaysia. It was only tyres in the market and used them for drifting. I was truly amazed with their good quality, high grip, precise handling and control.”
Rubber probably run in the veins of Lee, as he grew up working in the family-own tyre retail shop in Pahang. “I started help- ing in the tyre shop when I was 10 years old, learning from scratch the ins and outs. I set up my own tyre servicing centre at Seri Kembangan, Selangor in 2013, but it was only two years ago that we became the Westlake branded tyre centre.”
Good marketing strategy and no
The reason for partnering with West- lake Marketing Malaysia, Lee pointed out is because Westlake is still consid- ered quite new in the market as com- pared to the other tyre brands that have been around for so many years. Thus, he said, it is full of potential and ample room to grow.
