Lifetime Achievement Award for Chen Jet How
The Lifetime Achievement Award for the Tyre Retreading Sector in the 2023 Recircle Awards was awarded to Chen Jet How, the former Group, which is known as being one of the pioneers of the tyre distribution and retreading industry in Malaysia. Chen, - treading markets across Asia over a ca- reer that has spanned over 60 years, was presented with his award by Retreading Business publisher David Wilson during in Singapore.

He was there when the company estab- Petaling Jaya in 1959, following which he set up Newera Engineering in 1968 and expanded it into a regional equipment supply and service company.
In 1969, he established South-East Tyreman, and in 1975 he oversaw the

- tread in Malaysia.
In 1981 he established the Group’s pres- ence in tyre distribution with the estab- lishment of Kit Loong Tyre Centre, which eventually became Tayaria, and in 1990 he oversaw the establishment of the Kayel tread rubber factory in Prai.
In 2001 Chen stepped aside as CEO but he has remained active in the business be felt today.
