    With a history that could be traced back to 1929, Goodyear Malay- sia says it is committed to car- ing for the environment and community. Recently, the company reinforced this commitment by donating tyres to Sekolah Kebangsaan Seksyen 20, Shah Alam (SK 20), for the school’s recreational activities and workshop training to impart the im- portance of recycling in students.
In addition to using the tyres for practical purposes, some tyres were used as deco- ration. The SK 20 school aims to reuse the tyres and create sculptures that would       its students. This idea was inspired by the unveiling of two statues crafted by pro- fessional sculptors, made entirely out of Goodyear tyres, at the 2018 Cotton Bowl. The Cotton Bowl is an annual college American football match, played between          National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) college football league.

Malaysia, said: “We are more than happy
to support this community in which we are
proud to be a part of. We know the tyres
are being put to good use, so we hope
that this would inspire and empower the
students of SK 20 to take care of the en-
         items in a safe environment.
“The tyres that we donated to the school would have been re- cycled and so are unsuitable for the market. We are happy to see them serving new decorative and practical reasons, which to us is the same as being recycled. We now have more space in our inventory and the school has new tyres being put to good         
This initiative was spearheaded by Aizatul Ashraf, a teacher at SK 20, who noticed the bare school grounds. At the hando- ver ceremony, Aizatul said: “Schoolchildren absorb information and knowledge from many sources, including their surround- ings.
