Longmarch Targets Rapid Growth in Malaysia
Chinese truck tyre manufacturer tripled its sales in the Ma- laysian market during 2014 and is targeting more rapid growth in the coming years supported by a development
the Liaoning, China based manufacturer, Longmarch revealed that they sold three-fold of the volume of truck tyres in 2014 as compared to 2013 in Malaysia. The company, which has been present in Malaysia for 5 years selling through Seremban based distributor CB Longmarch Tyres Sdn Bhd, is targeting 60 per cent increase in volumes in 2015.
“Malaysia is an important market for Longmarch,” explained Zhao. “We have seen rapid growth in Malaysia for the past three years and we have seen the need to customise the product range to suit local conditions.”
With this in mind the company has developed two special sizes for the Malaysian market. LM 115 is a highway pattern available and four belt layers for high speed durability and comfort.
The other special design is LM511, a block pattern tread design for all kinds of surface. Available in same two sizes as LM 115, LM511 is a comprehensive formulation offering excellent abra- sion, tear resistance and low operating temperatures. The tyres
“We position ourselves among the top level of Chinese manufac- turers in terms of quality but with competitive prices,” said Zhao. “Having said that, we are not looking to create a price war,” he continued. “We are looking at a long term strategy and are try- ing to develop according to the demands of the market. We don’t mind taking the time to do it. We are also looking to invest in the market with advertising and promotions including billboards. We will be running a campaign. Depending, of course, on how many tyres well sell.”
The Longmarch brand was established in 2003 and production capacity now stands at 2.1 million tyres per annum.
