EXHIBITION : TYREXPO ASIA 2015
展览会: 2015亚洲轮胎展
S the Chinese tyre manufacturers. During the recent Tyrexpo Asia exhi- bition in Singapore we had the opportunity to interview Samuel Zhou, Vice General Manager about the company’s plans for the Malaysian market.
The Tyreman
What are your aims for the tyre market in Malaysia and what time scale have you set for achieving them?
Samuel Zhou
We have been active in the Malaysian market for nearly 10 years, having started by in 2006 with our agents, Easa Trading, and it has become one of the most important markets in South East Asia. China and Malaysia has a close relationship. Next year there will be no duty on our products so we believe Chinese products will grow a lot. We are targeting a position within the top three in the market and we believe we can achieve this within three years, both for the car and truck markets. This may sound ambitious but we have been using both our China and Vietnam facilities effectively so we are almost in that position already.
The Tyreman
Could you please explain something about your marketing and distribution strategy in Malaysia?
Samuel Zhou
being a “reliable Chinese supplier”. As far as distribution is concerned we are supplying the PCR market through tyre dealers, whereas in the truck sectors we are aiming to engage directly with the end user.
The Tyreman
There are many Chinese products on the market. How does Sailun differenti- ate itself from the rest?
