I decided to turn my hobby into a
business and set up a motorcy- cle workshop. After eight years of running the business, I sold it and went back to Muar, my home town. I applied the same business model of my motorcycle workshop in Kuala Lumpur to Muar, Johor in January 2018. It was not success- ful and I shut down the workshop in December the same year.”
There is a saying that ‘failure is life’s greatest teacher’. However, it is not easy to embrace failure and learn from it. Muadz stressed that the mindset was important in over- coming business failures. “Muar is a small town unlike Kuala Lumpur. Motorcyclists in Muar would not spend much money on their mo- torcycles. They come when they need to change a tyre. I should not apply the same business model - stead of a motorcycle workshop, I opened an automotive workshop in 2019. It was running smoothly for two years but was unable to sur- vive due to Covid.”
Winners never quit and he perse- vered. In 2021, he set up an au- tomotive workshop at Lot 3309, Jalan Abdul Rahman, Bandar Ma- harani, Muar, which serves as the headquarters today.
“Currently, we have two outlets including the HQ in Muar. Our HQ has 20,000sq feet with eight bays while the new outlet has 10,000sq feet with 10 bays. We - tomotive services, ranging from tyre retail to general automotive servicing and repair, including engine overhaul.”
Muadz also shared that his future plan was to enter the recon car industry. “I am looking to import them directly from abroad and re- furbished them. As an automotive workshop service operator, we have the advantage because we could cover the recon cars with our own warranty.”
