Continental Tyre Alor Setar Successfully Concludes Covid-19 Vaccination Programme
Continental Tyre Alor Setar Sdn Bhd, a tyre manufacturing plant of Continental based in Kedah, is fully committed to ensuring the total vaccination of its workforce and helping contribute to Malaysia’s path to recov- ery from the Covid-19 pandemic. The company started a vaccination cam- paign in August this year at its premises, to get vaccinated free of charge. Today, almost all the employees have had the opportunity to receive a second dose of the vaccine.
“Our goal is to ensure that our work- force is able to return to work with full protection against the Covid-19 virus. We therefore purchased the vaccine - bility to get easy access to being vac- cinated at the premises of our plant. We have had an excellent response and around 90 per cent of our em- ployees have received their second vaccine. This will ensure that we will be able to restart our activities safely in September, complying with the Ma- laysian regulations for manufacturing - mail, General Manager, Continental Tyre Plant in Alor Setar.
Continental has been implementing meticulous processes to proactively screen and prevent the spread of Co- vid-19 in the workplace. Besides fully complying with all required Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs) from the Malaysian Government, the company made it mandatory for anyone entering the plant to take a Saliva Rapid Antigen Test. “With the implementation of daily testing and strict adherence to all the SOPs since the beginning of the pandemic, these factors have successfully avoided any outbreak of a Covid-19 work- place cluster within the plant.
