YHI Malaysia Introduces Yokohama BluEarth-GT AE51
YHI (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the sole distribu- tor of Yokohama tyres in Malaysia, an- nounced the availability of a new product within the Yokohoma BluEarth tyres range, the GT AE51 in the domestic market.
The new BluEarth-GT AE51 was developed
as a grand touring tyre for mid-range sedans,
with ‘GT’ in the product name, which stands
for Grand Touring’, a term synonymous with long-distance driving. It is designed to deliver excellent all-around performance, including superior manoeuvrability, comfort and environ- ment-friendly features. In addition, YHI Malaysia while sustaining the excellent wet-grip performance that the previous BluEarth-A tyres are known for.
Featuring a specially developed asymmetric tread pattern, BluEarth-GT AE51 delivers a comfortable ride and excel- lent steering stability. Its high-rigidity triple centre ribs ensure straight-line stability at high speeds. The tread pattern’s light- ning grooves and blade-cut sipes contribute to its superior per- formance on wet surfaces.
YHI Malaysia pointed out that the lightning grooves increase total edge volume while maintaining the rigidity of the tread block. This, the company said, further improves wet grip per- formance by expanding the portion of the edge that displaces water from under the tread. The blade-cut sipes also have an important function as they enhance the uniformity of ground contact pressure on the tread face, which contributes to an increase in total edge volume.
Meanwhile, BluEarth-GT AE51’s advanced construction achieves both light weight and high durability. Furthermore, the two-layer tread compound as this suppresses energy loss due dimple shoulder design that facilitates heat dissipation.
