BKT Plant to be Complete by September
BKT Tires new plant located scheduled to be complete by September 2015. This was revealed by Chairman and Managing Director Arvind Poddar during the recent Tyr- expo Asia exhibition in Singapore.
According to Poddar the compa- ny’s fourth plant, which represents and investment of USD 500 mil- lion, will enhance capacity by 80%, allowing the specialist OTR tyre manufacturer to target key markets in the Americas. As well as helping improve delivery times from an av- erage of four months to 30 days.
BKT say that the main reason for the huge increase in capacity is due to previous capacity problems. - ties in supplying customers with beyond 70% of their requirements. This will help us solve this particu- lar problem. We anticipate that we will be able to achieve 100% ca- pacity utilisation at the new plant within two years.”
