Malaysians Receive Educational Assistance from Toyo Malaysia

  Toyo Tyre Malaysia Sdn Bhd presented 4 Undergraduate Scholarships to students pursuing a degree in Malaysian public universities and 30 Student Financial Assistance as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme. This is the second year that the company is providing such edu- cational assistance to deserving and needy Malaysians to pursue their studies.
Each Undergraduate Scholarship is worth RM8,000 per year and successful recipients will receive RM2,000 every three months until graduation. Each year, there will be four recipients for this scholarship.
For the Student Financial Assistance, each recipient would re- ceive RM200 per month, totalling RM2400 per year. The aim is to            less than RM1,500 per month and pay for expenses such as bus fare, books and even tuition fees. This year, the Student Financial Assistance is extended to 30 well-deserving primary students.
The total amount that the company has committed in year 2015 for both programmes was RM104,000.
Both the educational assistance programmes are extended to schools in the Taiping district. This year, the Undergradu- ate Scholarship programme sees participation by the following schools :
1. Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Hua Lian
2. Sekolah Menengah St. Goerge
     
4. Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kamunting
while the Student Financial Assistance Programme involves :
1. Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Hua Lian 1
2. Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Hua Lian 2
3. Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Aulong
4. Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Palma
5. Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Panglima
       - cial Assistance awards to the successful recipients, Kanji Kasai, Managing Director, Toyo Tyre Malaysia Sdn Bhd, said the com- pany was geared to become a ‘key player’ in providing more op- portunities to deserving students to complete their education.
