John Bean BFH2000: Car Wheel Balancer with Diagnostic Functions
The wheel is the most important component of a car in assuring grip, direction and safety. However, high performance and safety are vibration due to imperfect wheel shape (run-out), and an accurate and uncompromising safety diag- nostics.
According to Corida Sdn Bhd, the sole distribu- tor of John Bean automotive servicing equipment, the challenges of the market and the requirements from customers were the decisive factors that led John Bean to develop the automatic, non-contact BFH2000, a car wheel balancer with diagnostic functions.
The machine has a 19” LCD computerised wide touch screen monitor and comes standard with a gauge arm and laser pointer for accurate place- ment of adhesive weights and a space saving wheel guard.
With the advanced Strip of Light technology and SAF & Go, the BFH 2000 offers a set of functions that contribute to avoiding risks due to damage to the wheel or wrong operation of the machine. Equipped with the Strip of Light technology, it has 5 high-resolution cameras that scan tyre and rim from different directions with special 3D laser beams. In a single spin, all data is detected and possible de- fects in tyre or rim is diagnosed and documented. Corida claims that this unique scanning feature has never before been implemented in a wheel balanc- er. The SAF & Go features tyre pull index, tread depth analysis, sidewall and tread analysis, align- ment pre-checking and tyre wear-out prediction.
Corida says the accurate balancing techniques of BFH 2000 have made it one of the most advanced and reliable diagnostic wheel balancing systems in the industry. Designed for power users and high- generating advanced diagnostics, such as radial run-out, wheel-only run-out, tread depth laser de- tection and much more. Improved safety is ensured by identifying customer’s tread depth and drivability issues.
BFH 2000 is able to handle a wide range of after- market and high performance wheels. It is also very user friendly with easy use manual guidance, clear- er overview of information and quicker operation.
