Other topics that were presented included ‘It’s All About Family Business’ by Dr Stephen Lu of the University of Southern California; Marketing & Branding by Derek McMartin of Maxxis UK; ‘Practice on ERP System (SAP) by Jim Lentini of Maxiss USA; ‘Practice on Accounting’ by Mark Schaubroeck from Maxxis USA; an R&D presentation by Samuel Chen and Kevin Chen; Government Regulation on Tyres: Tyre Labeling by Dr Walter Waddell from ExxonMobil; and marketing presentations by select- ed distributors.
The underlying principle of Maxxis Triple 3 guided Maxxis not only as a company but also on how each Maxxis family member should contribute towards the respective community. Maxxis urged distributors to participate in its ‘No More Hungry Students’ initiative, which was part of its CSR pro- gramme. Under this programme, Maxxis distributors were eligible to apply for the funds with a proposal to help their local underprivileged students, ranging from primary school pupils to high school students by providing free lunch for them. Once the proposal was approved, Maxxis would al- locate funds from the foundation to cover 50 per cent of the entire cost of the project.
At the gala dinner, Maxxis not only launched its Maxxis brand of wine but also recognised the remarkable performance of its 8 distributors by pre- senting them the Distributor of the Year Award. They were Khalid Saeed Alhajeri Company Ltd and Datis Trading FZCo from the Middle East; Feng Shen Co., Ltd and Nasco Automotive Company from Africa; and Swan In- ternational, North Trend Marketing Corporation, Kian Hon Tyres Sdn Bhd and PT Atria Prima Indonesia from South-East Asia.
