Continental’s SportContact 7 topped Auto Bild’s summer tyre test with standout handling and wet braking performance.
Auto Bild: SportContact 7 Dominant on Dry and Wet Roads
Continental‘s flagship summer tyre, the SportContact 7, has once again earned top marks from Auto Bild. Pitted against seven rival products in the German publication’s latest comparative test for high-performance summer tyres, the tyre successfully claimed the top spot.
Tested in the 245/35 R 19 size category, the Continental SportContact 7 impressed with its exceptional handling characteristics. According to Continental’s official release, the tyre garnered praise from Auto Bild‘s editorial team for its “sporty behaviour in all weather conditions, precise steering response, and strong aquaplaning resistance.”
The high-performance tyre also received top marks on braking distances on dry and wet surfaces. During the wet braking test, it was fitted into an Audi TT test vehicle and managed to bring the car to a halt nearly 30 metres—a distance equivalent to the length of seven VW Golf 8s—earlier than the worst-performing competitor when braking from 100 km/h.
“On both dry and wet roads, the Conti dominates the sports tyre segment,” wrote Auto Bild.
The SportContact 7’s latest win adds to a growing list of accolades, reinforcing its reputation as a benchmark in the high-performance tyre market.
