Pahang Tyre Dealer Association Marks 26th Anniversary Celebration
This year, only four companies took part in the mini exhibition that was held at the open car park of the restaurant before the dinner. They were Corida Sdn Bhd, Hock Lee Industries Sdn Bhd, OSK Dagangan Sdn Bhd and Rema Tip Top Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
About 500 people attended the anniversary dinner, including members, guests and the media.
“Our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has invited Jack Ma as the adviser to the Malaysian government on digital economy and he has happily agreed. In March 2017, Malaysia formally launched the Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) initiative at the Global Transformation Forum. During the launch of the world’s first DFTZ, our PM said Malaysia was currently undergoing the transformation of electronic technology and on-line purchase. If we could make good use of the convenience of technology, we would be less dependent on cash, foreign labour and cost,” said Chairman Chew Heng Jin in his welcoming speech.
He urged members to be prepared for e-commerce challenges during the transition period, not only psychologically but also in action. He stressed that members should upgrade their services and professionalism.
“Sooner or later, the government will implement that and only those who obtain relevant professional certificates are eligible to perform tyre servicing, car maintenance and repair. I strongly encourage our members to send their technicians for training to get ready before the enforcement.”
The highlights included a donation to the operation fund of the Malaysian Association of Tyre Retreaders & Dealers Societies (MATRDS), cake cutting and toasting as well as entertainment.
