Kian Hon Introduces CST Champion Tyres for 4x4s
Since its establishment more than 40 years ago, Kian Hon Tyres has earned respect as a reputable supplier of high-quality tyre products and reliable service provider for
all types of motor vehicles.
Tan said Kian Hon was fully committed to growing the brand in the local market.
“To demonstrate the performance of CST 4x4 tyres and pro- mote brand awareness, I set up a 4x4 adventure team called Team CST 4x4 Malaysia. It is managed by Team Director Ger- ald Kiong who guided the famous Team Maxxis 4x4 Malaysia to a record hat-trick championship title at the Rainforest Grand Finals from 2015 to 2017. Team CST 4x4 Malaysia has suc- cessfully created a CST brand presence through the CST Tires Malaysia platform among the local and foreign 4x4 community.”
She proudly announced that the good performance of the tyre at Malaysia to Europe and America, and even to remote places such as Bulgaria and Mongolia.
“The team has promoted the CST brand name not only with the hardcore or 4x4 competitors, but also celebrities and the general public,” she added.

Proven Performance
With the data and feedback collected from the various 4x4 chal- lenges, CST R&D Xiamen, Team CST 4x4 Malaysia and Blanc Designs successfully developed and created a new tyre - CST Land Dragon CL18M - at size 35x10.5-16 for extreme competi- tion in August 2019. This tyre, Tan pointed out, proved its per- formance in Malaysia in numerous state-level events and was crowned 1st runner-up in the buggy category at the Rain Forest Challenge (RFC) Grand Finals 2019. The RFC Grand Finals is rated as the world’s top three toughest 4x4 challenges.
The same collaborative teams, she continued, again created the CST Land Dragon CL18 at size 36x12.5-16 to have the ‘true- height when traversing extreme terrain.
“CST Tires Malaysia was the Silver Sponsor of the Borneo Sa- 30th October to 6th November in Sabah. This challenge is the more than 450 vehicles from various countries around the world and our 4x4 team ran on the Land Dragon CL18 and CL18M tyres.”
With the success in global sales of CL18 and CL18M, she shared, the teams invented the bigger size global competition tyre CST Dragon Claw CL21M, which made its debut at the Rainforest Challenge (RFC) Grand Finals 2022.
The Dragon Claw CL21M’s tagline - Choice of Champions – she noted best described the new tyre. “Its specially developed compound delivers outstanding durability and cuts resistance over hazardous terrain.
