Goodyear Appoints New Market Leader in Malaysia
Goodyear Malaysia recently announced the appoint- ment of Alex Ng as Manag- ing Director Malaysia. Alex replaces Ben Hoge who, after a successful 3-year assignment, moves to a se- nior role within Goodyear’s Europe- an, Middle East and Africa organisa- tion (EMEA).
Ben, Managing Director of Good- year Malaysia since 2016, returns to lead Sales Operations and Inter- national Key Accounts based at the Goodyear EMEA headquarters in - gust, 2019. During his time in Malay- sia, he successfully implemented an aligned distribution model, expand- ing the retail network with a stronger mix of new high performance tyres, which returned Goodyear Malaysia to volume and market share growth.
Alex joined Goodyear in 2008 as General Manager (Sin- gapore) and was promoted to General Manager, Aviation business in 2009 based in Bangkok, Thailand. He was sub- sequently promoted to Original Equipment (OE) Director, business portfolio as Market Director, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines and Export Markets. He is expected to take up his new position in Malaysia in Q4 2019. In the meantime, Andy Cooper, Managing Director, Goodyear ASEAN, would take direct responsibility for the Malaysia busi- ness until Alex transitions from his current role.
