Linglong International Tire Thailand Successfully Achieves Its Three Goals
Linglong Tire is among the first batch of Chinese tyre companies to set up factories and subsidiaries abroad and the company chose Thailand for its first overseas manufacturing base.
Established in January 2011, Linglong International Tire (Thailand) Co, Ltd (LLIT) is sited in the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, which is known as the ‘Oriental Detroit’. This industrial estate is strategically located; 112 kilometres from Bangkok and 27 kilometres from Laem Chabang Port, the largest in Thailand. As the world’s top producer and exporter of natural rubber, it is sensible for tyre companies to invest and set up factories in Thailand to take the advantages of raw material production, processing and application. After careful evaluation of Thailand’s international political environment, automotive and tyre market development potential, support from the local government as well as the benefit of avoiding international trade barriers, Linglong set up its production facility in Thailand, underlining a key step in its global expansion. The move allows Linglong to integrate resources from difference places, receive good response from targeted markets as well as other markets, improve product competitiveness and shape its international brand image.
LLIT held its foundation stone laying ceremony on 16th November, 2012. The plant broke ground in March 2013 and in May 2015, it started producing all-steel radial tyres for trucks and buses. The full production of semi-steel and all-steel tyres took 26 months and LLIT says it has achieved its three goals – fast construction, state-of-art technology and good comprehensive benefits….
