Launch Tech Malaysia unveiled two new products – X-431 PAD III and PAD IV HD – at the recent Automechanika Kuala Lumpur, which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

“The X-431 PAD III, based on the Android system, is the latest high-end passenger car diagnostic scanner developed by Launch Tech. It inherits the company’s strengths in diagnostic technology, such as wide car model coverage, powerful test function, abundant special functions and accurate test data,” said General Manager Chia See Yong.
For the first time, claimed Chia, X-431 PAD III used two new technologies – the new licence-plate scanner technology and cloud diagnosis technology, which made the maintenance more intelligent and efficient.
Communicating with X-431 PAD III host via the Bluetooth connector, this new diagnostic scanner covers brands such as Maserati and Ferrari as well as most car models from Asia, Europe and America, achieving full car model and full system trouble diagnosis. Existing diagnostic functions include reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC), clearing DTC, reading data stream, actuation test, special function, adaptation, coding and online programming, among others.
Meanwhile, the X-431 PAD IV HD is Launch’s high-end heavy duty vehicle scanner. Applicable for 12V and 24V ECUs, he said it covered 41 global commercial vehicles including those from Scania, Hino, Volvo and Isuzu. It is equipped with a 12-inch In-plane switching (IPS) screen display and diagnostic box with full comprehensive HD truck diagnostic software functions.
“It offers basic diagnosis, actuation test function, calibration function and special function. It also supports remote diagnosis by instant messaging and is convenient for asking help during offsite diagnosis. Other features include ECU reset, calibration and new Diagnosis Cloud module. The Diagnostic Community is an interactive community between users and repair shops. It is convenient to share experiences, publish help needed, add friends and send remote diagnostic request as well as support a variety of input from text, images, voice, video, data flow and diagnostic reports. The Cloud Printing function allows online vehicle information check and generates the diagnostic report via smartphone, tablet and online browsing.”
Also on display was the brand new DBSCarII Connector. Both X-431 Pro and Pro 3, as well as Pad II, adopt this new diagnostic connector to make vehicle tests more stable. The connector is said to be much safer now with the new override charge protection. Additions include the new protocol of CCD, standard CAN and Mix Can.
“We also upgraded the software for X-431 Pro, Pro 3 and Pad II. The new upgraded version supports the matching, coding, programming and common special functions of programmable modules for most vehicle makes. Battery reset, brake reset, oil reset, ABS bleeding, throttle adaption, TPMS reset, DPF regeneration, gear leaning and IMMO are among the functions.”
During the 3-day exhibition, from 23rd to 25th March, the dealers of Launch Tech Malaysia offered up to 25-per cent discount on all scanner products for cash and carry transactions.
