Using 2019 as a base year, Goodyear is committed to reducing its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 46 per cent by 2030 and relevant Scope 3 emissions by 28 per cent over the same time frame.
By the end of 2022, Goodyear plans to procure 100 per cent renewable energy in its facilities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Goodyear said that production technology and increased use of alternative raw materials would help it reach climate goals. The company also revealed that it wants to create a maintenance-free tyre made from solely sustainable materials by 2030.
