The Mobil Delvac Golf Tournament & Seminar was held on 10th May, 2019 at Forest City Golf Resort, Gelang Patah, Johor.
HT Lub & OFM Jointly Organise Mobil Delvac Golf Tournament
HT Lubricant Sdn Bhd (HT Lub) and Optimum Fluids Marketing Sdn Bhd (OFM) jointly organised the Mobil Delvac Golf Tournament and Seminar. The event was held on 10th May, 2019 at Forest City Golf Resort, Gelang Patah, Johor.
HT Lubricant, part of the HT Group, was established in 2007 as the authorised ExxonMobil lubricant distributor. The company offers a wide range of lubricants for passenger and commercial vehicles to industrial needs.
Optimum Fluids Marketing markets and distributes Mobil branded automotive and industrial lubricants in Penang, Kedah, Perlis and Perak from its office in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
Lim Thiem Keat, Sales Director of OFM, said: “We realised that many of our fleet customers are golf enthusiasts and thought it would be a nice experience to bring them together for a round of friendly golf. Last year, we started with our first golf tournament in the Klang Valley and this year, we decided to bring them to this new course in Johor.”
Tay Hsing Thye, General Manager of HT Lub, adds: “Besides the golfing experience for our fleet clients, it is also a great opportunity for us to know them better and see how we could further improve our service to them.”
After the golf session ended, Jason Sim, Certified Lubricant Specialist from OFM, gave a talk on the various Mobil Delvac solutions available for different fleet requirements. He also touched on the effects of Biodiesel B10 on oil change. One of the issues faced, he said, was biodiesel dilution with which viscosity dropped as biodiesel did not combust as easily as diesel. Biodiesel also did not evaporate as easily as pure diesel. As such, the biodiesel might end up in the engine oil and fleet operators needed to check if there was an increase in the engine oil level. Using bio-compatible oil would allow it to absorb excess biodiesel without a large viscosity drop and without sacrificing engine protection. Another issue to be aware of was biodiesel related oxidation with which the bio-component of biodiesel could turn into sludge when heated. Therefore, Jason said, it was crucial to use lubricants like Mobil Delvac that had passed the biodiesel test.
There were 40 golfers that played and 60 guests during the seminar and dinner. Prizes were given to those ranked 1-10. There were also prizes for the nearest to the pin, longest drive and wooden spoon.
Ten guests also went home with shopping vouchers during the lucky draw.
Forest City Golf Resort currently boasts of an international standard 18-hole golf course and a luxury hotel. The course was designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus and his son, Jack Nicklaus II.

HT Lubricants私人有限公司（HT Lub）与Optimum Fluids Marketing 私人有限公司（OFM）近日联手主办Mobil Delvac 2019年高尔夫球 比赛及研讨会。该活动于2019年5月10日在柔佛Gelang Patah的森林城市高尔夫球度假村（Forest City Golf Resort）举行。
HT Luricants是HT集团的成员之一，成立于2007年，是ExxonMobil润滑油经销商。他们提供下列广泛的润滑油，从轿车、商用车到工业用润滑油。
Optimum Fluids Marketing 则从其位于槟城大山脚的办事处，将Mobil品牌汽车及工业润滑油销售和分销到槟城、吉打、玻璃市及霹雳州。
OFM 销售董事林添杰表示：“我们发现车队客户中有许多人喜欢打高尔夫球，因此兴起了为他们主办一场高尔夫球友谊赛的念头。去年，我们在巴生谷开始主办我们的第一场高尔夫球比赛，今年我们决定把他们带到柔佛的全新高尔夫球场来。”
HT Lubricants总经理郑行泰补充：“除了为我们的车队客户带来高尔夫球经验外， 这也让我们有机会更了解他们，看看我们能如何能进一步提升我们为他们提供的服务。”
在高尔夫球比赛结束后，OFM润滑油认证专家Jason Sim也特别讲解适合关各种不同车队需求的Mobil Delvac解决方案。他也谈到有关更换B10 生物柴油的课题。其中一个使用B10生物柴油所面对的问题是稀释，因为它的粘性会降低，而且生物柴油不如柴油那样容易燃烧。生物柴油也不如纯柴油那样容易蒸发。因此，生物柴油最后可能会存留在引擎油之中，因此车队营运者必须检查引擎油水平是否有所增加。采用生物相容性的油可以吸收过多的生物柴油，而且不会导致粘性的大幅下跌，对引擎的保护造成影响。另外一个问题是与生物柴油相关的氧化，生物柴油里的生物成分在加热时将会转变成沉淀物。因此，采用通过生物柴油测试的润滑油如Mobil Delvac非常重要。
共有40 名客户参加该高尔夫球比赛，60名嘉宾出席研讨会及晚餐。除了十名优胜奖外，其他奖项包括近洞奖（nearest to the pin）、最远距离奖（longest drive）及末名奖（wooden spoon）。
另外，还有10名嘉宾在幸运抽奖环节中抽中购物礼券。
森林城市高尔夫球度假村拥有符合国际标准的18洞高尔夫球场和豪华酒店。该球场由高尔夫球传奇人物Jack Nicklaus和其儿子Jack Nickluas II设计。
