Kian Hon Tyres Sdn Bhd marked another milestone on 12th December, 2017 with the soft launch of its Ipoh branch that was relocated from another premises and the opening of MaxxPit.

The event was well attended by more than 200 invited business partners and dealers in the Perak region, guests as well as the media. Kevin Cheng, Sales Manager of Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co, Ltd, flew in from Taiwan to grace the event. Cheng Shin Rubber is the 9th largest tyre company in the world and is better known as Maxxis International.
A traditional lion dance and ribbon cutting ceremony marked the soft launch of the Ipoh branch’s new premises located at Persiaran Klebang 1, Kawasan Perushaan IGB, Cheras, Perak.
Kian Hon Tyres expanded its business operation to Ipoh some 40 years ago. To better serve customers in the region, the company moved to this new location and is equipped with better facilities, including a big warehouse and a second MaxxPit in Malaysia, following the first one set up earlier this May 2017 in Petaling Jaya. The company said it was blessed to have two MaxxPit outlets opened in 6 months.
The company also took the opportunity to announce that Team Maxxis 4×4 had won the overall championship for the Rainforest Challenge 2017, which was rated as the top 10 toughest automotive challenges in the world. It was indeed a historical feat for the Team in winning the title for three consecutive years; 2015, 2016 and 2017. This set a new record in the Rainforest Challenge as no team has ever achieved such an outstanding result in its 21-year history.
