In October 2017, Point S Malaysia opened its first store in Petaling Jaya. Today, Point S Malaysia continues this aggressive push with the launch of its South-East Asia flagship store in SS2, Petaling Jaya.
Point S Inaugurates Flagship Store in Malaysia
The store covering 20,000 square feet (1,850m²) has 8 service bays, a 3,000-square feet (280m²) showroom with a Pirelli Performance Centre, a BFGoodrich corner and space for parking up to 20 cars. The store provides tyres, wheels, batteries, auto lubricant change service, quick fit and parts services.
Point S in this location would partner Gocar Malaysia, a car rental service provider, to have 2 cars parked in this premise for the convenience of customers. It was also announced that Grab Malaysia (the competitor of Uber in South-East Asia) would also station a terminal in this location for the convenience of customers.
The event was graced by Frédéric Laplanche, French ambassador of Malaysia. “Point S is a reputable auto retailing chain very popular in France and the French expects the best service standards when it comes to their cars. With the opening of this flagship store, Malaysians too can expect the same service standards,” he said.
Point S Malaysia currently has three branded outlets – located in SS2, SS15 and Kayu Ara (12 in total). And it was also on this auspicious day that Director, Point S Malaysia, and Deputy CEO, GIIB Group, Tai Qisheng, disclosed: “We are now planning for an outlet in East Malaysia and expect to have at least 15 branded locations in Malaysia by the end of 2018. We look forward to pushing this fury pace to build Malaysia’s largest independent tyre retailing chain.”
“We are proud of what the team in Malaysia has achieved in such a short span of time. We are already in discussion with multiple other countries in Asia and expect an exciting year in 2018 for Asia. We continue to invite all retailers to join us on this journey of re-shaping the Asian tyre and automotive landscape,” says Adrian Smiechowski, Business Development Director of Point S Development.
