73 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo 2, all equipped with the high-performance Hankook Ventus Race, battled it out at the World Finals.
Hankook Tyres Demonstrated Huge Potential at Various Circuits around the World
The Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals, which took place from November 16 to 17 at Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto in Spain, marked an “excellent end” of Hankook‘s second year as the official tyre supplier of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.
More than 10,000 fans at the Andalusian circuit were treated to a battle involving 73 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo 2, all equipped with the high-performance Hankook Ventus Race tyre. Kazakhstan’s Egor Orudzhev from the ART-Line team was crowned champion in the Pro class thanks to a fifth-place finish in the opening race and victory in race two.
“That was an excellent end to our second season as the official tyre partner of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo. The races produced captivating motorsport, with the Hankook tyres once again demonstrating their huge potential at various circuits around the world,” said Manfred Sandbichler, Hankook Senior Director Motorsport Europe, in an official statement.
“Like the tyres, the competitors also performed superbly and served up exciting title races in all the competitions. It once again showed that the Hankook Ventus Race and the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo 2 form a strong team. I would like to thank all the participants for many breathtaking moments, and to congratulate the winning drivers,” he added.
After last year’s premiere, the partnership between Hankook and Lamborghini Squadra Corse successfully carried on where it left off in the 2024 season. From March to November, drivers in the three continental Lamborghini Super Trofeo championships contested 18 events or 36 races in total. The World Finals serves as a curtain closer and a world championship title decider.
The Hankook Ventus Race delivered its reliable grip for the 600-hp sports cars from the Italian town of Sant’Agata Bolognese at a host of prestigious racetracks, including Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), Circuit de La Sarthe (France), the Nürburgring (Germany), Laguna Seca and Sebring (both USA), Fuji Speedway (Japan) and Hankook’s home event in Inje (South Korea).
The outcomes of the continental championships were decided before the big showdown at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals. The Asian champion was Britain’s Daniel Philip Wells from the DW Evans GT team, who claimed four victories and finished with points in every race. In Europe, the title went to last year’s World Finals winner, Amaury Bonduel from France. On the American continent, the championship was won by Americans Ernie Francis and Giano Taurino.
The new season will kick off from 12th to 14th March 2025 at the Sebring International Raceway, Florida.
