Hock Lee Industries Sdn Bhd showcased a variety of its products at the recent Automechanika Kuala Lumpur exhibition. Among them were Sonic Tools’ products, Compac Jacks and Cub Commercial Vehicle TPMS Solution.
Hock Lee Industries Unveils Latest Product Showcase
Taking centrestage at the company’s booth were Sonic Tools’ hand tools, toolbox and storage solutions. According to Singapore-based HLT International Pte Ltd CEO Joseph Tan, Hock Lee had been the sole distributor of Sonic Tools’ products in Malaysia and Singapore for 3 years.
Also present was Sales Manager Ariel Pang from ARC Tools Co, Ltd. She explained that Sonic was in fact a Taiwanese brand, produced in Taiwan but the headquarters was in The Netherlands.
“Europe is our main market. Though space efficient and innovative tools storage solutions are not that popular in Southeast Asia, it is already a mature concept in Europe. We see the potential in Malaysia as Malaysians are more open to new concepts and there are many European cars here.”
At the moment, she revealed, Audi Melaka was using the company’s tools storage solutions. “Our partner Hock Lee is able to deliver a customised and all-accommodating workshop by combining storage components such as cabinetries, tool boxes and compartments that are specifically designed and built into your workshop, for exactly the line of work and purpose in which you choose to be active in.”
Sonic, she continued, was the official supplier to the Volkswagen Automotive Group in Germany. Sonic and Volkswagen Germany partnered to create custom Volkswagen toolbox solution that houses Sonic tools inside the Sonic S12 toolbox, with the tool layout inside the foam inserts designed by Volkswagen Germany. In addition, Sonic Tools was the official tool of the International Motor Sports Association, with tools being used by affiliate teams and the IMSA organisation.
“For hand tools, we give 10 years’ warranty and for tools trolley and cabinets, they come standard with 2 years’ warranty,” added Tan.
Also on display were two new Compac jacks. Both are 2-tonne jacks; one with ultra- low entry height of only 77mm and the other has a low entry height of 80mm. Both products come standard with 3 years’ warranty, that consists of 1 year’s full warranty and 2 years’ parts warranty.
Meanwhile, Gigi Choong, Assistant Manager of Hock Lee Industries, said the Cub Commercial Vehicle Tyre Pressure Monitoring System solution adopted the most innovative chip to reach up to 1,300kpa heavy loading/high pressure demand. It was also a system dedicated to truck fleet management that required highly sensitive antennas and receivers to monitor multiple tyre sets simultaneously.
“Our system connects to the mobile phone. It would monitor the tyre pressure and notify you in the event of a nail puncture or other gradual pressure loss, sudden tyre temperature increase, or a rapid deflation in the tyre through the phone. It gives the driver a look at real-time tyre pressure levels that could help eliminate the risk of accidents and unplanned vehicle downtime while cutting fuel consumption and operating costs.”
Apart from that, Choong said there were Cub TPMS solutions — the Uni-sensor and Sensor Aid for passenger cars — that worked well with run-flat tyres.
