Goodyear‘s EfficientGrip Performance 2 has been selected by Citroën to equip its new fully electric ë-C3. The approved equipment embodies Goodyear‘s commitment to performance, efficiency, and the future of electric mobility.
Goodyear Selected as OE for Electric ë-C3
The new Citroën ë-C3 is the first affordable small car designed and manufactured entirely in Europe without compromising on quality, experience, and comfort.
Goodyear will supply the EfficientGrip Performance 2, a summer tyre designed to offer ultra-low rolling resistance to increase efficiency and, consequently, electric range. It also features a flexible tread pattern that helps reduce breakages caused by rough road surfaces, resulting in excellent durability.
Furthermore, this original equipment partnership aligns with Goodyear’s recent introduction of the “Ready for EV” strategy. As such, Goodyear has introduced two new visible markings on the sidewall of all EV and PHEV original equipment, as seen on the ë-C3. These labels, known as Electric Drive Technology (EDT) and Electric Drive Ready (EDR), indicate the incorporation of a set of technologies tailoured to address the specific and unique characteristics of an electrified vehicle, such as high load capacity, maneuverability, and noise reduction.
Johannes Moll, General Manager of Consumer OE, Goodyear EMEA, commented: “Goodyear is delighted to have been chosen by Citroën to equip the new ë-C3. Our EfficientGrip Performance 2 offers a summer solution that perfectly complements the modern electric capabilities of the ë-C3, demonstrating our commitment to providing innovative solutions for electric vehicles and the future of electric mobility.”
