As part of a drive to promote good tyre habits, Goodyear Malaysia organized a series of free tyre checks around Klang Valley, stretching from Putrajaya to Bandar Utama. A total of 10,000 tyres were examined for free over the duration of one week, with the effort culminating at Quill City Mall where shoppers were able to get their hands dirty and participate in the campaign.
Goodyear Offers Complimentary Tyre Checks to Promote Responsible Consumer Tyre Maintenance
This is part of Goodyear’s Better Future initiative. The initiative, which focuses on building a safe and smart community around the world aims to remind customers of the importance of road safety when travelling, especially during festive periods. This Goodyear says and building community awareness on the crucial role that tyres play in car safety was the main objective of the project.
Donned in the traditional blue of Goodyear, a total of 8 associates conducted detailed checks on 2,500 cars during the outreach period, after which, car owners were presented with a card indicating the condition of their tyres and an additional free 10-point tyre check when they visited participating Goodyear outlets. The event was capped off with more than 2,500 Raya Thoughtful Packs distributed to consumers, each containing Egyptian Kurma and a Goodyear Basic Tyre Maintenance booklet – in preparation for buka puasa, as well as equipping users with the necessary knowledge on tyre and vehicle checks before driving home.
“We always believe that enriching communities through such meaningful involvement and knowledge sharing are the best ways to go in building a safer world. Goodyear is conscious of and committed in playing its role to impart knowledge to the communities around us, aiming to elevate head-to-heart knowledge on road safety. Tyres are a very important aspect of a car as it is the only thing that separates the road from the car. Therefore, knowing more about the reliability of their tires and their role towards road safety are essential for drivers, for a safer on-the-road experience,” said Ben Hoge, Managing Director of Goodyear Malaysia.
He also concluded: “Onwards from this initiative, we hope to assist the nation with overall preparedness from Hari Raya shopping to Hari Raya travelling, as well as to remind everyone of getting their vehicles checked for a pleasant journey ahead.”
