The Tyre & Rubber Indonesia is Back
The tyre and rubber industry is seen as one of the sectors to be developed to support the Indonesian domestic economic growth. This also includes the potential in the significant growth in the export of products, including tyres and automotive components. The development is in line with the improving macro-economic indicators in Indonesia, the country’s stable economic growth, the increase in automotive sector investment as well as the implementation of the regulation that supports the growth of the automotive market.
The prominence of the rubber industry in Indonesia has attracted a significant number of buyers and traders from all over the world. Indonesia still holds the title of the world’s second largest rubber supplier after Thailand. According to a recently released TechSci Research report, ‘Indonesia Tyre Market Forecast and Opportunities, 2020’’, the tyre market in Indonesia is forecast to grow at a CAGR of above 13 per cent during 2015-2020 and Technavio analysts predict the passenger car tyre market in Indonesia would grow at a CAGR of 8.87 per cent until 2019. The passenger car tyre market is fast becoming one of the most important sectors for tyre manufacturers in Indonesia.
The Tyre & Rubber Indonesia 2018, organised by PT Global Management (GEM Indonesia), was held successfully concurrent with INAPA 2018. INAPA is the ASEAN’s largest international trade show for automotive industry and more potential with a special zone for tyre section.This year the show was inaugurated by Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno (Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta), Zulfikri (Directorate General of Railways, Ministry of Transportation), Imam Aryono Senior Advisor to Minister for Intensification of Domestic Product Utilisation – Ministry of Industry) and senior supporting association members. The exhibition welcomed 1,012 exhibitors from 29 countries across different sectors of the show that interacted with 23,353 visitors from 37 countries.
Tyre & Rubber Indonesia, an annual event, is said to offer good opportunities for connecting with new distributors, wholesalers and tyre manufacturers representing local and overseas brands. The next event would take place on 20th–22nd March, 2019 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) Kemayoran, Jakarta. Tyre & Rubber Indonesia, which would again be held in conjunction with INAPA 2019, INABIKE 2019 and Busworld South East Asia 2019, has become one of Indonesia’s most prospective trade shows for the tyre industry.
