Timo Glock and Alex Lynn, two drivers with F1 experience, will race for Falken Motorsports in the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup.
Falken Motorsports Won Two Previous Editions of the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup
Falken Motorsports has recruited the exceptional talents of former Formula One (F1) driver Timo Glock and reigning European Le Mans Series LMP2 champion Alex Lynn to race in the alongside Nico Menzel and Alessio Picariello this weekend. The race will take place on 3 August 2024.
Making his GT3 debut at the legendary Nordschleife in the #4 Porsche 911 GT3 R (992), Glock only obtained the required Nordschleife permit this year but soon demonstrated his prowess on the circuit by winning the GT4 class in the 2024 Nürburgring 24-hour race. With the record of three podiums in 91 F1 Grand Prix starts, as well as eight years in the DTM, Glock will be paired with Nico Menzel.
Another name bringing Formula One experience to the team is Alex Lynn, who is set to make his debut in the teal and blue Falken Porsche this weekend. Joining Alessio Picariello in the #3 car, Lynn was formerly a F1 test driver for Lotus and Williams and currently represents Cadillac Racing in the top class of the FIA World Endurance Championship. A proven sports car competitor, Lynn raced in the GT3 class of the Nürburgring 24-hour race in 2017, claimed LMGTE Pro class victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2020, and third in the Hypercar class of the same race in 2023.
Having won the previous two editions of the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup – with Joel Eriksson and Sven Müller in 2022 and Joel Eriksson and David Pittard in 2023 – Falken Motorsports is the team to beat. Following a strong performance already in 2024, the team has claimed wins in both the Nürburgring Endurance Series and the ADAC 24h Qualifiers.
Falken customer team, Max Kruse Racing, will also field a special guest this weekend: team owner Max Kruse, who is also a former football star in Germany, will contest his first race on the Nordschleife behind the wheel of a Golf GTI TCR – alongside Nico Otto and Marcus Menden – as he looks to earn his Nürburgring permit.
This weekend’s Nürburgring Endurance Series will get underway with qualifying at 08:30 (CEST), before the six-hour race begins at midday. Fans at the legendary circuit will be able to meet-and-greet the Falken Motorsports drivers during the pit walk (10:20 CEST) and grid walk (11:00 CEST), while those at home will be able to follow the action in real-time via the livestream.
