The Continental PremiumContact C offers a quiet and energy-efficient driving, a perfect combination for a car like BYD Seal U.
5 Biggest EV Manufacturers in the Asia Pacific Region Rely on Continental to Supply OE Tyres
BYD’s electric SUV, the Seal U, will come from the factory equipped with 19-inch Continental PremiumContact C tyres. The tyre is designed for quiet and energy-efficient driving where electric vehicles such as the BYD Seal U will benefit from in particular.
The PremiumContact C (C stands for ‘comfort) offers a quiet and comfortable driving experience. Special silica in the rubber compound reduces energy absorption through the tyre while the vehicle is in motion and, in turn, reduces friction and rolling resistance. This leads to high energy efficiency and a long tread life.
Noise breakers in the tread pattern and a noise-reducing design work together to significantly lower the rolling sounds of the tyre. Thanks to a rounded contact patch that distributes the pressure evenly across the tyre, the PremiumContact C provides a low-impact ride even at high speeds.
For more than a decade now, Continental‘s developers have been optimising tyres to achieve ever-lower rolling resistance, low rolling noise, and high mileage, without compromising on safety features. For example, all tyres from Continental meet the requirements of electric vehicles and at the same time are also able to sustainably reduce emissions from combustion vehicles.
According to the company’s official statement, the five most successful manufacturers of electric vehicles in the Asia-Pacific region recently relied on Continental tyres for the original equipment of their cars.
