Vredestein Ultrac Pro’s New Sizes Available to Satisfy Growing Demand
Apollo Tyres has launched 54 new size options for its Vredestein Ultrac Pro ultra-ultra-high-performance (UUHP) summer tyre range to satisfy fast-growing demand. The new size options are suitable for wheel rims from 18 to 22 inches.
The Vredestein Ultrac Pro was launched last spring and became an instant hit, outperforming rivals in several tests including the Auto Bild trials. It combines performance and comfort for high-performance cars; from SUVs, sports cars, to hypercars. This then led to the strong demand for the product to cater to a wider range of performance-focused vehicles.
Yves Pouliquen, the Vice President of Commercial at Apollo Tyres Europe, said, “There has been a very positive response to our flagship performance tyre following its introduction last year, and this move will ensure we are better able to meet fast-growing demand. The Ultrac Pro is already compatible with rims up to 24 inches, and we now cater for many of the most common size requirements across the UUHP category.”
Featuring a unique asymmetrical sidewall design crafted by Italdesign, inspired by chronometers and quality timepieces, the Vredestein UItrac Pro showcases the overall theme of “passing time” as a reference to the tyre’s performance focus.
The latest generation of Vredestein UUHP tyres features a significantly different material layout compared to both its predecessor and other established products in the category. Notably, structural changes in the bead and lower sidewall near the rim enhance high-speed stability and cornering performance while maintaining a smooth ride over uneven surfaces.
Additionally, the tyre tread incorporates a next-generation compound, developed through an advanced mixing process that combines cutting-edge polymers, fillers, and performance resins. This ensures a reliable grip on both wet and dry surfaces across a wide range of temperatures.
Before its launch, the Vredestein Ultrac Pro underwent extensive testing by the Spanish engineering firm Applus+ IDIADA, where it was benchmarked against six leading competitors. Against three high-performance UUHP tyres and three comfort-oriented alternatives, the Ultrac Pro ranked just behind the top performance tyre in the ‘Limit Handling’ test—by less than 1 km/h in entry and exit speeds—while surpassing all comfort-focused UUHP tyres in overall ride quality assessments.
