Sailun Tyre Europe (STE) hosted over 110 Maxam, RoadX, and Dynamo customers from all over the continent to visit Sailun Group‘s production facilities in the company’s hometown of Qingdao, China, last September.

The Maxam, RoadX, and Dynamo—all subsidiary brands of Sailun—customers were given a personal, in-depth tour to see the day-to-day operation of the tyre manufacturer. “Not only was it an experience to better understand Sailun Group, but some also took it as an opportunity to better understand China and Chinese culture itself,” the tyre maker wrote in an official statement.

The trip to China, lasting two weeks in total, was divided into two groups. The first group, consisting of customers from the UK, Belgium, Poland, Portugal Spain, Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, and Turkiye, visited Sailun‘s factories first. The second group, comprising customers from the Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, Poland, the Republic of Ireland, and Greece then followed suit.

STE Managing Director, Harry Wang, stated, “These opportunities are extremely important for us. Getting customers in front of us, showing them what Sailun Group is truly about, and really building that trust and understanding with them is second to none. We couldn’t ask of anything more from these types of events than that.”

The trip itself became a memorable experience for all the guests. One guest, according to the company, commented, “It only makes it more clear why you would choose Sailun Group as a key tyre partner. It’s the clear choice and I’m more confident than ever to explain that to whoever wants to hear it!”

The international guests first visited the facilities of Sailun Group where they could see the different types of in-house research and testing, production capabilities, and overall level of automation utilized in even some of Sailun’s oldest factories. Customers were able to see how investment in automation has significantly altered the first factories established by Sailun.

One of the key highlights of the visit was the “lights out” TBR (truck, bus, and radial) factory production line where the Maxam Giant OTR and Agriculture tyres came from. The factory “showcased the capabilities of the newest automated production machinery seen in the industry.”

After the factory tour concluded, the European guests visited member organizations of the QUST Industrial Chain which supports Sailun Group to “Make Great Tyres”. There are hundreds of organizations within the QUST Industrial Chain from over ten key industries, including raw material suppliers, tyre production equipment technologies, software, and even end-of-life recycling.
