As a new tyre brand in Malaysia, Gremax has successfully captured attention from the market.
Gremax Strives to Emerge as the Premier Budget Tyre Brand in Malaysia
In a recent interview with Daniel Liau, General Manager of Gremax Industrial Pte Ltd, he revealed that the setting up of Gremax Singapore was not only in line with the corporate strategy of being close to the market and customers, but also because of the ample market potential and opportunities for growth in Asean.
“Malaysia,” he stressed, “being one of the major economies in Asean, is definitely one of the major focus markets for Gremax Singapore. We have appointed JY Wheels, with its long and excellent history in the tyre industry as well as its outstanding network, as the exclusive distributor of the Gremax brand in Malaysia.”
Gremax is positioned in the budget tyre segment as mid to upper. This tyre is targeted at customers who are more concerned about practicability and cost performance.
“We have been trying to find a better balance in this segment. Nevertheless, Gremax will also develop new products for customers who have more advance demands,” he added.
Since the introduction of the Gremax brand to the Malaysian market, Liau said it was well received. Customers were satisfied with the overall performance, especially in handling and balancing. The tyres were said to be quiet and fuel saving.
Compared to other Chinese brands, Liau said Gremax tyres were value for money in price versus quality. He explained that this meant in the same price bracket, Gremax offered a better quality and vice versa, with this level of quality, this tyre offered a more competitive pricing. As Gremax was a 100-per cent private brand owned by the company, it could have control of the market and provide stable supply as well as diverse marketing support to the customers.
“We aim to be one of the leading brands in the budget tyre segment and will continue to develop more tyres that are suitable for Malaysia and Asean markets. Together with JY Wheels, we will roll out a series of marketing activities such as product launches, marketing and training seminars, among others, in the near future.”
To keep up with market demand, the company continued to develop new products. There were some new developments, he said, such as runflats, new Ultra High Performance and SUV designs and new sizes to cater to the Malaysian market that the company hoped to introduce to customers soon.
A range of Gremax tyres was on display at the Crown Tyre’s booth in the recent CITEXPO 2017 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
